Our branches

Clitheroe

Our Clitheroe branch is the main hub of Mearley Veterinary Group with our Practice Manager and most of the business admin run from the office above the practice. There is plenty of parking on site and a disabled ramp allowing easy access for all of our clients and their pets.

Consultations with our team of Vets are offered daily at the Clitheroe branch. We offer morning and evening consults to fit around our clients busy schedules.

Accrington

Accrington boasts the largest branch in the group with a lovely spacious waiting area providing plenty of room for pets large and small. There is ample on-site parking at Accrington and the surgery is fully accessible for all our clients and their pets.

There are two Vet consulting rooms at our Accrington branch and with long consulting times offered we are able to accomodate even the busiest of client schedules.

Barrowford

Our cottage branch at Barrowford provides an intimate, consult only experience. With parking located nearby and a beautiful park opposite why not bring your pet here for their annual booster before enjoying a stroll around the local vicinity?

Our Barrowford branch offers everything that our larger branches offer in terms of consultations with our team of vets and should your pet require surgery or more involved treatment we can book you in at either the Accrington or Clitheroe branches.

Nurse clinics

Sometimes your pet may need attention that doesn't necessarily require seeing a Vet. During their clinics our caring Veterinary Nurses can offer appointments for nail clipping, anal gland expression and microchipping.

They will also be the ones who provide both pre and post op checks should your pet require an operation and they help with after care, including removing stitches and dressing wounds. Our nursing team will provide you with nutrition and general care advice to help keep your pet in tip-top shape.

They can also perform 2nd vaccinations and microchipping for your new puppy or kitten and provide flea and worm consultations to help prevent those pesky parasites!

Operating theatres

At Clitheroe and Accrington our well equipped operating theatres have state of the art diagnostic equipment including digital x-ray machines, ultra sound scanners and, at our Clitheroe branch, an endoscope.

Both branches also have dental equipment to get those teeth pearly white and ECG machines for heart monitoring.

We are able to perform a wide range of surgeries from routine neutering to more complex orthopeadic procedures at both sites and have links with a number of specialist referral centres for cases requiring extra care.

Large kenneling facilities

Our Clitheroe branch offers spacious kennelling facilities with two walk-in kennels for our larger patients. Clitheroe also has a special isolation area for any pets that require quarantining away from the main kennels.

There is a fully enclosed outside yard area meaning your pets are completely safe whilst in our care.

The kennelling facilities at our Accrington branch provide separate areas for dogs, cats and other pets to help minimise stress. Blankets and bedding are all provided as we maintain high levels of cleanliness but if your pet has a favourite teddy please mention this to the nursing team when booking and they will make sure your pet has their buddy to snuggle with during their stay with us.

Dispensaries

All three of our branches have fully equipped dispensaries furnished with small animal and equine medications.

They are all kept well stocked but drugs can easily be ordered for next day delivery if not routinely kept on the shelf.

In-house laboratory

Both our Clitheroe and Accrington branches have in house laboratories able to run tests such as pre-anaesthetic blood sampling, urinalysis and other basic diagnostics.

Should your pet need more involved tests running we have an external laboratory service (Idexx Labs) who are able to offer a comprehensive range of diagnostics.

Pet passports

Taking your four legged family member abroad with you?

Ask a member of our team what the legal requirements are and book in with one of our Vets to get a pet passport issued.

Additional Services

Available at the weekend

Both our Accrington and Clitheroe branches are open for you and your pets over the weekend. Saturday consultations with our vets are available 10am-12pm and our Clitheroe branch is also open Sunday mornings for emergencies.

Insurance claim form processing

To aid you with the sometimes lengthy process of making an insurance claim just ask our reception team what we can do to help.

Written prescriptions

Written prescriptions are available on request for a small fee. Please allow us 48 hours to process these for you and be aware that our Vets will still need to see your pet at least every 6 months for a repeat medication check, in order for us to comply with the regulations regarding prescription only medication.

Pet crematorium

When the time comes to say goodbye to your beloved companion let us worry about the details - we'll contact our pet crematorium (PCS) based in Leyland to ensure a smooth transition at this difficult time.

Close links to animal charities

We are very proud to support numerous local and national animal charities with their invaluable work.
